Fiver Staff Spotlight: Mabel Muñoz

“No matter how you got to Fiver, what skills you came in with or lack thereof, Fiver believes in you and will be there by your side to help you achieve your goals. Even in those moments where I may feel very low, upset that I did not meet a deadline, or just not feeling very competent for a project- I am given grace and support every step of the way with great confidence from my colleagues, families, alumni, and board members that I will prevail in all that I do.”

Mabel Muñoz is no stranger to the Fiver family. She graduated from the program in 2015, and after graduating from SUNY Oswego, she joined the seasonal team as a member of our camp staff. In 2019, Mabel became a full-time staff member, overseeing our elementary and middle school programming. This summer, Mabel accepted a new role as Fiver’s Senior HR and Operations Manager and is part of our senior leadership team.

When reflecting on her Fiver and career journey, Mabel shared,

“As someone who graduated college not really knowing where life was going to take me or what career field I wanted to enter, having the opportunity to hold so many different roles at Fiver has been a true blessing.”

Her commitment to the Fiver community captures the essence of what it means to be a team player. In her own words,

A valuable team player knows when it is best to take a step back to assess how they can best support their team to achieve the shared goals. After assessing the needs of the team, they can then work on filling in those gaps and finding solutions to elevate the team to greatness.”
