Spring Programs Go Virtual

When New York enacted a stay at home order, we were challenged to reimagine how we deliver our programming, much of which is traditionally in-person. While the coronavirus has kept us physically apart from another, it has not prevented us from remaining connected. Since March, we’ve had over a thousand one on one interactions with our participants and launched weekly virtual hangouts that averaged 60 participants a week. Our team also hosted virtual hangouts for parents in English and Spanish to provide additional support to our Fiver families. Additionally, our website became a central source of various COVID19 relief resources for families in New York City and Central New York.

When asked about Fiver's support during the Covid-19 pandemic, one parent said, “Everything you’ve done is more than we can ask for. Thank you FIVER!” When asked what additional support they might need, another parent responded, "Just continue to do all the positive things that Fiver does. It has and does make a difference in the children's lives. Thank you."
